Falling Stars

Falling Stars was a projection mapping in 2011 that transformed a public space by virtual lights and shadows. Despite being one of the oldest buildings in Berlin´s center the former church Heilig-Geist-Kirche is nowadays used by the faculty for economic science. At night fall the church and the square in front were exposed to shining lights falling off the sky, touching down on rooftops and ground, sliding over edges and steps to eventually fade away or disappear in a drain. In this silent and unreal spectacle the falling lights themselves remained invisible while their gradients and the moving shadows of architecture and plants gave an idea of their whereabouts. Falling Stars was part of the the light art festival City Lights DomAquarée.
