Falling Stars is a light installation that transforms a location by means of projected shadows.
The Heilig-Geist-Kirche is one of the oldest remaining buildings in the center of Berlin. Having served as a hospice for the ill and poor during the middle ages it now belongs to the faculty for economic science where it is used as a festival room.
At night this church and the adjacent square are illuminated by slowly falling lights. They are not visible as light sources but can be traced by the moving shadows they let the environment cast. In this silent and rather subtle spectacle the falling lights end up touching down on the ground where the light concentrates to a decreasing spot to finally vanish in one of the square´s drains.
