Taenzer

As adequate response to electronic music Taenzer is the impudent attempt to synthesize dance entirely in the computer. On purpose the project defies limitations of the human body: the absence of gravity, inertia and exhaustion are core features of this 3D-generated dancer, just as anatomically challenging twists.
For Taenzer dance is understood as interference of spatial waves. Complex rhythmical movements are generated by mapping different waves with gradually changing frequencies and offsets to body, limbs and movement paths. The interactive installation had been projected at the event shiftglueck in the Bockenheimer Depot 1999 as persistent stimulus for the dancing crowd.
